- The U.S. Geological Survey has a requirement for services to conduct a desert tortoise and human impact survey in the region of Fremont Valley and the Rand Mountains, eastern Kern County, California, using 240 one-hectare plots. The contractor shall have existing Scientific Research Permits from the U.S. Wildlife Service for the contractor to conduct a survey of desert tortoises on the study sites. The contractor and all field crew members must have previous experience with tortoises, tortoise sign, and anthropogenic impacts. Period of Performance is estimated to be: 03/11/2011 through 09/30/2011. Competitive procedures in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation Part 12, Acquisition of Commercial Items, will be utilized. This competition is small business set-aside under the NAICS code 541620 Environment Consulting Services, with a size standard of $7.0 M. It is anticipated that the Request for Quote G11PS00080 will be posted to this site on or about 02/14/2011 with quotes due on or about 02/28/2011. All responsible sources may submit a quote to which will be considered.
