Description
Contractor to provide full Architect/Engineering services as required to prepare complete contract drawings, specifications, and cost estimates, including services throughout construction period for Project No. 596-329 'Fifth Floor Main Addition' for the VA Medical Center, Lexington, Kentucky, Cooper Drive division. The A/E shall develop a cost effective design to add 24,000 SF of new space as an additional floor (5th floor) to the existing clinical addition at the Lexington VAMC, Cooper Drive division. Project design shall clearly show work required, phasing of work required, and instructions to construction contractor regarding how to accomplish the necessary renovations in a 24/7 medical environment taking into consideration demolition, dust control, infection control, and specialized facility requirements. Bid deductions shall be built into the scope of work of the project to allow for flexibility in construction award. Construction Cost range is between $5,000,000 and $10,000,000. Area of consideration is limited to a 250 mile radius of the Lexington, Kentucky VA Medical Center. Firms desiring consideration must submit THREE copies of SF 330, not later than 3:00 PM local time, March 9, 2011. This procurement is set aside for Veteran Owned Small Business (VOSB). NAICS 541310 with a size standard of $4.5 million is applicable. Contract award is subject to the availability of VA funds. A/E Selection criteria will include: 1) Professional qualifications necessary for performance of required services; 2) specialized experience and technical competence of the A/E firm with similar type projects; 3) past performance on contracts with Government agencies; 4) Location of A/E firm; 5) experience and roles of key design personnel, specifically on related projects; 6) cost control and estimating effectiveness. This is not a request for proposal. THREE copies of SF 330 should be mailed to Connie Mabley, Contracting Officer (90C), 2250 Leestown Rd., Lexington, Kentucky 40511. No faxed or emailed SF 330's will be accepted.
