- The Contracting Department, Fleet and Industrial Supply Center (FISC), Norfolk, VA, 23511-3392 intends to negotiate a Firm Fixed-Price contract and will utilize procedures under FAR Part 13 Simplified Acquisitions. The proposed requirement will be awarded under a Firm Fixed Price Contract, brand name or equal. The contractor shall provide 30 EA Mobile Demand Ultra Mobile PCs, XTablet 7000, 30 EA CAC-100-Mounted SCM USB Smart Card Readers, 60 EA Spare Standard Capacity LION Batteries, 30 EA Hatch Cover-Express Cards and 30 EA Office Docks required by Commander, Navy Recruiting Command, Millington, TN. The NAICS code applicable to this procurement is 423430. The size standard is 100. The delivery period is within approximately 2 weeks following contract award. FOB point is destination. The solicitation, any documents related to this procurement, and all amendments issued will be in electronic form at the FedBid Website as follows: www.FedBid.com. The solicitation is anticipated to be available around 09 February 2011. NO SOLICITATION EXISTS AT THIS TIME. For this solicitation, the Fleet and Industrial Supply Center (FISC) Norfolk, Contracting Department intends to conduct an online competitive reverse auction to be facilitated by the third-part reverse auction provider, FedBid, Inc. FedBid has developed an online, anonymous, browser based application to conduct the reverse auction. An Offeror may submit a series of pricing bids, which descend in price during the specific period of time for the aforementioned reverse auction. FISC Norfolk is taking this action in an effort to improve both vendor access and awareness of requests and the agencys ability to gather multiple, competed, real-time bids. All responsible Offerors that respond to this solicitation MUST submit the pricing portion of their bid using the online exchange located at www.FedBid.com. There is no cost to register, review procurement data or make a bid on www.FedBid.com. Offerors that are not currently registered to use www.FedBid.com should proceed to www.FedBid.com to complete their free registration.
