- Amendment #1 The Smithsonian Institution's Smithsonian Journeys ("SJ"), a division of Smithsonian Enterprises' Consumer Products Division, offers escorted educational cultural travel experiences to members of the Smithsonian, readers of Smithsonian magazine and others that offer expert study leaders and tour guides and a high quality standard of accommodations, air travel, and ground services. See www.smithsonianjourneys.org. SJ seeks a sales and service center operator ("Service Center Operator") to create, staff, operate and maintain a dedicated sales and customer service center ("Service Center") to actively generate sales and accept bookings and inquiries, and offer, sell, promote and provide other services in connection with SJ Signature Tours (the "Tours"), as more fully set forth in Section II, Scope of Work, of the RFP. This is not a solicitation for a federal contract and is therefore not governed by federal procurement procedures. If your company is interested in working with the Smithsonian to create, staff, operate and maintain a dedicated sales and customer service center, please review the attached RFP and submit a proposal in accordance with the attached instructions and conditions. To be considered, you must submit one (1) original and seven (7) copies of your proposal as detailed in the RFP by no later than 2:00 P.M. Eastern time, on February 16, 2011. Requested materials must be received by this deadline in order to be considered.
