- The US Army Contracting Command-Aberdeen Proving Ground (Soldier, Chemical, Research & Test) Natick Contracting Division (NCD), on behalf of the Naval Medical Research Unit San Antonio (NAMRU-SA) intends to issue a Request for Proposals for research and development to develop a wound dressing that is capable of removing more than 99.999% of bacteria, fungi, and viruses passing through their media. These services are required to develop a new solution for wound care displaying a broad spectrum antimicrobial iodinated resin demonstrating efficacy, as we as non-toxicity to the patient. This procurement will utilize Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) part 35, Research and Development Contracting. The Government anticipates issuance of a one (1) year, Cost Plus Fixed Fee contract. It is anticipated that this procurement will be solicited as 100% small business set-aside. However, the Government reserves the right to change the solicitation procedure. The Government envisions awarding a single contract. However, the Government reserves the right to issue more than one contract, or none. If more than one contract is awarded the requirements will be divided (ratio to be determined) among successful offerors. The applicable NAICS Code is 339113 with a size standard of 500 employees.
