- Description
- This is a modification to the synopsis entitled Electric Metal Turntable, which wasposted on February 18, 2011. You are notified that the following changes are made: Requirement Verifications for Powered Turntable for EMI TestingLine One changed to read:1.Load capacity of 1000 lbs. uniformly distributed.Load capacity shall be verified by Analysis.2.No changes to line item Two.Line Three changed to read:3.Rotating platform diameter shall be 6.617 Feet (2 meters). The diameter shall be verified by Analysis.Line Four changed to read:4.Shall be driven by an electric motor, which operates at 208VAC, single phase,20Amp or less service. The motor operational voltage shall be verified by Analysis.Line Five changed to read:5.The Turntable shall communicate with and be controlled by an existing ETS Model2090 Controller or the vendor shall deliver an equivalent 2090 Controller with theturntable.a.Specifications of the ETS Model 2090 controller are available athttp://www.ets-lindgren.com/page/?i=2090. b.Physical connections between the turntable and the ETS Model 2090 controllershall consist of two fiber optic cables as described in the controller specifications.c.For a Controller to be equivalent with the ETS Lindgren Model 2090 Controller thecontroller shall meet the following minimum requirements:i.Commands from the Controller to the Turntable assembly shall be through two fiberoptic cables.ii.The controller shall be fully compatible with Rohde & Schwarzs EMC32 software.iii.The controller shall provide a local user interface for manually implementingcommands such as turntable direction, speed, start and stop.Communication shall be verified by Analysis and Test.Line Six changed to read:6.Turntable motor drive shall be capable of rotating the turntable platformcontinuously with a user adjustable speed range of 0.5 to 2 RPM.Turntable speed shall be verified by Test.Line Seven changed to read:7.Turntable motor drive shall be capable of rotating the platform in a step anddwell motion.a.The minimum step size shall be 1.8 degrees.b.The minimum accuracy of the step motion shall be +/-0.1 degree.c.The minimum accuracy of the turntable position reported to the ETS Model 2090Controller shall be +/-0.1 degrees.Turntable step and dwell motion shall be verified by Test.8.Turntable motor drive.Number Eight has been removedThis requirement is no longer required.Line Nine changed to read:9.To facilitate transfer and placement of the turntable in the SPF Test Chamber andto ensure sufficient EMI shielding, the turntable will be installed in a NASA-fabricatedaluminum enclosure shown in Figure 1, NASA Items 1, 2 and 3.a.The turntable shall bolt to the bottom of the NASA-fabricated enclosure, NASAItem 2.b.The turntable shall provide a rotating, EMI-shielded seal throughout the entirecircumference such as bronze brushes, which interface with the circular cutout in the topof the NASA-fabricated enclosure, NASA Item 1.c.The turntable shall provide a means for leveling the table and also a means foranchoring the table to the NASA item 2 shown in Figure 1The physical interfaces (a & b) on the top and bottom of the turntable to the NASAenclosure shall be verified by Analysis. The turntable leveling and anchoring shall beverified by Demonstration.Line Ten changed to read:10.When the turntable is installed in the NASA-fabricated enclosure, the TurntableSystem shall operate successfully in an RF environment with a maximum electric field of200 Volts/meter within 1 meter of surface of the Turntable System in the frequency rangeof 100MHz to 40GHz. The electric field operational requirement shall be verified by Analysis.Verification by analysis is a process used in lieu of or in addition to testing to verifycompliance to requirements. The selected techniques may include systems engineeringanalysis, statistics and qualitative analysis, computer and hardware simulations, analogmodeling, similarity assessment, and verification of records.Verification by demonstration is the use of actual demonstration techniques inconjunction with requirements such as operational performance, serviceability, accessibility, transportability, human engineering features, and display data. The due date for responses is not extended.
