FBO REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI): Coast Guard men and women combination hat buy. This is not a Request for Quote (RFQ) or a Request for Proposal (RFP). Applicable NAICS Codes: 315991 - Hat, Cap, and Millinery Manufacturing. Background: The Coast Guard is a military, multi-mission maritime service within the Department of Homeland Security and one of the five armed forces. Its core missions are to protect the public, the environment and U.S. economic and security interests in maritime regions. The Coast Guard Uniform Program Office has a requirement for the acquisition of men and women combination hats that should be in place by mid to late 2011. Requirements: To produce combination hats worn by the men and women of the US Coast Guard. The requirements include the cap frames, covers, mounts and bands. These items shall be manufactured to applicable Coast Guard and MIL specifications. The estimated 5 year IDIQ maximum quantities are: Women's Combination Hat Covers: 10,000 Women's Combination Hats (includes cover): 30,000 Men's Combination Hat Covers: 30,000 Men's Combination Hats (includes cover): 85,000 Request for Information (RFI): The current market research shows that there manufacturers that produce military hats to MIL specifications. The US Coast Guard is seeking to identify qualified small business concerns including: Veteran-owned small business, Service-Disabled Veteran-owned small business, HUBZONE small business, Small Disadvantaged business, and Women-owned small business concerns that are interested in and capable of manufacturing Coast Guard combination hats. Interested qualified small businesses having the capabilities to manufacture the combination hats are invited to submit concise documentation delineating qualifications, capabilities and experience for producing garments described in the attached. This information will allow the Government to determine what sources are available and interested. The applicable North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 315991 and the small business size standard is 500. Potential sources should indicate in their response their business status (i.e., small business, 8(a), HUBZONE, Veteran owned, etc.). This information will be used to determine whether the procurement can be set-aside for small business concerns, qualified HUBZONE or service disabled veteran-owned small businesses. This is not a RFP, RFQ, or an announcement of a solicitation. The Government is not requesting technical or management proposals and a contract will not be awarded as a result of this notice. The information provided will be used solely for market research purposes of the Government. The Government will not pay for any materials provided in response to this notice. If a solicitation is later released, it will be synopsized in FedBizOps. It is the potential business concerns responsibility to monitor this site for the release of any synopsis or solicitation.
