- THIS IS A PRESOLICITATION NOTICE ANNOUNCEMENT TO RAISE AWARENESS FOR POTENTIAL OFFERERS. The Department of Veterans Affairs Denver Acquisition and Logistics Center (DALC), 155 Van Gordon Street, Lakewood, Colorado 80228, intends to issue multiple awards of indefinite-delivery, indefinite quantity, fixed price contracts. The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) has identified wireless devices or systems that are compatible with hearing aids or bioelectric auditory implants (e.g., cochlear implants or BAHA) as candidate items for consolidated contracting through the VA National Hearing Aid Program. The consolidated contracting is to obtain user uniformity and quality products at lower than current contract and open-market prices. Anticipated issue date is February 25 2011. NAICS Code: 334510, size standard 500, Classification Code 65 Medical, Dental and Veterinary Equipment and Supplies. The period of performance for the base contract will be May 1, 2011 through April 31, 2012. Four additional option years will be exercised at the discretion of the DALC. The contracts will be awarded based on number of responsible, experienced, well qualified sources and full and open competition to allow for adequate price competition. This solicitation covers the following types of wireless devices or systems: a.Wireless adaptors that are single or multi-frequency wireless receivers that use boot adaptor or shoes to interface with hearing aids or bioelectric auditory implants (e.g., cochlear implants or BAHA ®) and have one or more transmitter options. It also includes wireless interfaces that can be used with wireless devices or systems that are compatible with hearing aids or bioelectric auditory implants (e.g., cochlear implants or BAHA). b.Contracts will be used as a mandatory source by VA medical facilities and on a non-mandatory basis by the following agencies: Department of Defense (DoD), Indian Health Services (IHS), Health and Human Services (HHS), and Bureau of Prisons (BOP) facilities as a source of supply. Upon mutual agreement between the contractors and Government, other Government agencies (OGAs) may be added to the contract by modification. c.Wireless devices, systems or wireless interfaces will be ordered from time to time and in such quantities as needed to fill agency requirements in accordance with current applicable supply procedures. Items will be for delivery worldwide, f.o.b. destination. The Contractor will be obligated to deliver all items that may be ordered during the term of the contract. There is no expressed or implied guarantee that the quantities will be ordered regularly. This subject announcement satisfies the requirements prescribed within FAR part 5. This requirement package is issued as a full and open solicitation for all qualified, experienced, and knowledgeable business entities who can meet the requirements. Solicitation documents will be available electronically on or about February 25, 2011 on www.FedBizOpps.gov. NO HARD COPIES WILL BE ISSUED. The anticipated closing date is March 28, 2011 4:00pm (Mountain Time.) The Contracting Officer for this acquisition is Gail A Hixon (gail.hixon@va.gov.)
