Description
The NF/SG Malcom Randall VA Medical Center, Gainesville, Fl intends to solicit on a sole source basis under the authority of FAR 6.302-1 to The University of Florida, Department of Applied Physiology & Kinesiology, 219 Grinter Hall, P.O. Box 115500, Gainesville, Florida 32611-5500. This procurement is being conducted under Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP) - only one responsible source and no other services will satisfy agency requirement. University of Florida is the only known company to supply professional services to execute the project titled 5-Alpha Reductase and Anabolic Effects of Testosterone. Objective: The overall objective of this contract is to acquire professional services to assist in the execution of the project titled 5-Alpha Reductase and Anabolic Effects of Testosterone. The primary scope of this contract will be to supply the VA Principal Investigator with DXA body composition scans of study subjects. Total Cost of Contract, As billed, up to $25,000 Duration of Contract: 10/1/2010 through 9/30/20110 Funding Source: 5-Alpha Reductase and Anabolic Effects of Testosterone VA Investigator: Stephen Borst Fiscal Contact: Kim Hatch Department of Applied Physiology & Kinesiology University of Florida 352-392-0584 ext. 1355 moira@hhp.ufl.edu Personnel Qualifications: The ideal contractor to perform the specifications outlined in this contract is the University of Florida Department of Applied Physiology & Kinesiology. The ideal contractor's representatives will each have minimum qualifications equivalent to a PhD degree with good interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills. Research experience with assessment of body composition and bone mineral density is required. Specific Tasks: Technical details: The following scans will be performed: 1) total body, 2) lumbar and 3) hip. Submission of Invoices will be on a quarterly basis.
