Description
THIS IS A REQUEST FOR INFORMATION. NO SOLICITATION IS BEING ISSUED AT THIS TIME. REQUESTS FOR A SOLICITATION WILL NOT RECEIVE A RESPONSE. The objective of this Request for Information (RFI) to industry is for recommendations to maximize production throughput and reduce costs at Oklahoma City Air Logistics Center (OC-ALC) for the General Electric line of engines. It is for information and planning purposes only and does not constitute a solicitation, nor is it to be construed as a commitment by the Government. Any resulting procurement action will be the subject of a separate, future announcement. The following information is provided for discussion purposes and any potential strategy for this acquisition may change prior to any solicitation release. Specifically, OC-ALC is interested in industry supply chain strategies to fill in the gaps we currently experience within the USAF supply system by considering supply-chain options both (a) inside and (b) outside the government sources of supply. Additionally, OC-ALC is looking for approaches to support a steady monthly production target comprising a mix of both scheduled and unscheduled overhaul/repair. These approaches need to address both (a) scheduled output and (b) goals to reduce material costs. Submittals should address the following production quantity scenarios for engine Type Maintenance Series (TMS) per year: F101 - 200 F108 - 120 F110 - 50 F118 - 5 Interested parties should provide a brief written response and description of potential approaches for review by the Government 30 days from date of issuance of this RFI. Any information submitted by respondents to this RFI is strictly voluntary. This RFI does not constitute a Request for Proposal (RFP) or an Invitation for Bids (IFB), nor does its issuance restrict the Government's ultimate acquisition approach. The Government will neither award a contract solely on the basis of this notice, nor pay for any information that is submitted by respondents to this RFI. Please note that the Government does NOT intend to award a contract on the basis of this RFI or to otherwise pay for the information requested. Request a response by COB (1600 CST) 16 March, 2011 to the Contracting Officer, who can be reached at email: alan.lee@tinker.af.mil or phone: (405)734-6644. In addition, cc Ms. Paula Maggard at email: Paula.Maggard@tinker.af.mil.
