- SOURCES SOUGHT SYNOPSIS FOR AND Gates B-1 Bomber Aircraft Department of the Air Force, Air Force Materiel Command, OO-ALC/GHGKA PURPOSE/DESCRIPTION This is a Source Sought Synopsis announcement, market research for information only, to be used for preliminary planning purposes. This market research is being conducted to identify potential sources possessing the engineering and manufacturing knowledge for the AND Gates used on the B-1 Aircraft. The AND gate consists of an explosive material contained in an aluminum housing having two input ports and one output port. Contained within the housing is a shuttle assembly and a plunger assembly. The shuttle assembly consists of two percussion primers, two firing pins, the output charge, and a keeper. The plunger is an interference fit in the holder. Three types of AND gates are used differing only in port thread size. The approximate size of the AND Gates is 4" long x 1" wide x 3" high. No proposal is requested or accepted from synopsis. This is not a solicitation for proposal and no contract shall be awarded from this synopsis. The Department of the Air Force Materiel Command, OO-ALC/GHGKA, Hill AFB is conducting a market survey for the following requirements. National Stock Number Part Number 1377-01-271-5483 6038100-04 1377-01-271-5484 6038100-05 1377-01-271-5485 6038100-06 INSTRUCTION Provide relevant experience to include performing engineering, manufacturing, inspection, and testing of similar components in the last 5 years. Company Profile will include the following: A. Number of employees. B. Office Location C. CAGE Code D. DUNS Number E. Small Business designation/status claimed No reimbursement will be made for any costs associated with providing information in response to this synopsis or any follow up information requests. The Government has very limited technical data to provide to potential offerors. Offerors must possess access to all appropriate data. Chemring Energetic Devices (CED), Downers Grove, IL has the capability and drawings for the AND Gates and the government does not own or have the rights to use the data required to manufacture this device. Interested offerors shall respond to this Source Sought Synopsis no later than 3:00 PM 2 March 2011.
