- General Notice: This is a Sources Sought Notice for BAA compliant, ceiling fan and light unit. This notice is for information purposes only and IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS, QUOTATIONS OR BIDS. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Seattle District, requests capability statements from manufacturers / vendors concerning the availability of ceiling fans and light units that satisfy the requirements described below. Responses to this sources sought announcement will be used by the Government to make appropriate acquisition decisions. NO SOLICITATION IS CURRENTLY AVAILABLE. General Information: Responses are to be sent via email to Bryan.G.Barnett@usace.army.mil (phone 206-439-4542) or hard copy to U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, PO Box 3755, CECT-NWS-M, ATTN Bryan Barnett, Seattle, WA 98124-3755 no later than 2:00 p.m. Pacific Standard Time 03 March 2011. GENERAL REQUIREMENTS: The US Army Corps of Engineers, Seattle District is seeking ceiling fan and light units that meet the following requirements: 1. The unit shall be utilized to provide lighting and fan use year-round for each living room and bedroom in the barracks 2. Must provide luminance level of a 10 foot candle utilizing compact fluorescent fixtures. 3. The unit must meet Energy Star or Federal Energy Management Program (FEMP) requirements. 4. The unit will be connected to a 120V circuit In addition to meeting the requirements indicated above, ceiling fan and light units shall comply with the Buy American Act (BAA). The BAA provides a preference for domestic construction materials mined, produced or manufactured in the United States as defined in the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Clause, "Buy American Act - Construction Materials" (FAR 52.225-9). For construction contracts exceeding $7,804,000, the Buy American Act restrictions are waived for designated country construction materials as defined in FAR 52.225-11, "Buy American Act - Construction Materials Under Trade Agreements." SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS: Manufacturers and/or suppliers responding to this announcement shall verify that units satisfy the general requirements indicated above. A catalog cut of the units with technical specification demonstrating this shall be included. In addition, please provide cost and place of manufacture for each unit. Responses should be submitted to the indicated point of contact with company name, address, and point of contact including email address. Responses must be received no later than 2:00 p.m. Pacific Standard Time on 03 March 2011
