Description
This is a sources sought advertisement ONLY for an upcoming Construction project in the Spring Mountains National Recreation Area of Southern Nevada, Near Las Vegas, NV. It is the rehabilitation of the Desert View Overlook parking area and hiking trail. This is NOT the solicitation for proposals. There are no drawings or specifications offered. There is no site visit scheduled. When the solicitation is posted, (most likely in April 2011, if it is public), it will contain all bid/offer materials, and it will appear under a DIFFERENT Solicitation number. The sole purpose of this advertisement is market research, to determine the availability of contractors of various business sizes and scocio-economic sectors who are regularly engaged in the type of work anticipated. This is a brief description of the work anticipated: Reconstruction of parking area, overlook area, and access trail. Involves enlarging an existing parking area, replacing the Overlook Trail with a new accessible trail, constructing a new overlook area and trail, performing geotechnical investigation work to excavate the cut bank across the highway. Work will include, but is not limited to excavation work, paving, retaining wall construction, concrete work, striping, trail construction, drainage structures, and sign installation. Please do not write, E-mail, FAX or call at this time asking for solicitation materials, nor with questions about technical aspects of the job etc.. The information given above is sufficient to respond to this market inquiry. What we are seeking is a head count essentially of general contractors regularly engaged in the types of work listed above. Their business size, location in relation to the Spring Mountians Recreation Area, and socio-economic categories. We would appreciate a response from any and all contractors regularly performing the above tasks. We are especially interested in the following: 8(a), HubZone small business, Small-Disadvantaged Business, Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business, but all are welcome to respond. To respond, please Email or FAX to the Contracting Officer, the Name of your company, your address, Point of contact, FAX number and E-mail address, your DUNS number and/or a screen shot or link to your information page in the CCR (Central Contractor's Register), and a brief synopsis of the last 2 or 3 jobs you've done involving the types of work described above. There is no particular format to use, and no form. FAX or Email is preferred, referencing the solcitation number, and put to the attention of Steve Roehr, Contracting Officer. Please don't use postal mail (because of short turn around), nor phone call (as we need a physical document to review). Response does not imply that there will in fact be a set-aside, nor indeed does it even imply that we will necessarily put this job out for offers or bids during this or any future fiscal years. This information is not being used to form a "Bidders List", although, the CO will keep the info you send on file for reference in acquisition planning. This is information to help the Contracting Officer in the acquisition planning process only. Thank your for your participation, should you decide to respond, and thank you for your interest in contracting with the U.S. Forest Service. The Email address for response is sroehr@fs.fed.us. The FAX number for response is 702-839-5599
