Description
This solicitation is for the procurement of LED Taxiway Lighting fixtures for the United States Air Force. The required LED Taxiway Lighting fixtures are commercial in nature, therefore, FAR Part 12; Acquisition of Commercial Items shall apply to this acquisition. The Air Force contemplates a multiple award indefinite delivery indefinite quantity contract for the purpose of meeting an AF-wide requirement to convert airfield taxiway lighting to FAA-approved LED fixtures. Anticipated contract award date is March 2011. The final solicitation will include a full and open competition that targets 2 or more contract awards. Contract Awards will only be made to contractors that manufacture both types of fixtures L-861T and L-852T. The anticipated contract will have five 1-year ordering periods. Delivery orders will be competed among contract awardees for the duration of the contract. The AF expects to release the formal Request for Proposal (RFP) issue on 7 Jan 11. The NAICS Code for this acquisition is 335129 - other lighting equipment. Funds are currently not available on this requirement; it is subject to FAR clause 52.232-18 -- Availability of Funds. IAW AFFARS, funding will be made available at contract award to cover the minimum order quantity specified in the RFP. All responsible sources may submit a proposal that will be considered by this Agency. Contractors will be solely responsible for monitoring the Internet for details and downloading the final solicitation or any subsequent amendments through the Electronic Posting System (http://www.fbo.gov). To be eligible to receive an award resulting from the solicitation, the contractor must be registered in the DoD Central Contractor Registration (CCR) database, NO EXCEPTIONS. To register, you may call 1-888-227-2423 or apply via the Internet at http://www.ccr.gov. Contractors must also complete the Representations and Certifications in the ORCA database at http://www.bpn.gov/orca. No paper copies will be issued. It is incumbent upon the interested parties to review the aforementioned site regularly for any updates/amendments to any and all documents. This notice does not obligate the Government to award a contract, it does not restrict the Government's ultimate approach, nor does it obligate the Government to pay for any proposal preparation costs.
