Description
The United States Coast Guard Surface Forces Logistics Center, Contracting and Procurement Branch 2, IBCT Product Line intends to issue a Commercial Request for Quote (RFQ) for Dockside Repairs to the USCGC CLAMP (WLIC-75306) 75 FOOT D CLASS INLAND CONSTRUCTION TENDER and USCGC 68B BARGE (68016) home ported in Galveston, TX. The Coast Guard intends to conduct the procurement in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 12, Acquisition of Commercial Items and FAR Subpart 13.5, Test Program for Certain Commercial Items. The NAICS Code is 336611 and the small business size standard is less than 1,000 employees. The simplified acquisition will be issued as a Best Value for Quote (RFQ), on or about February 28, 2011. The RFQ will be issued via the Federal Business Opportunity (FEDBIZOPPS) website at www.fbo.gov. This requirement will be evaluated using past performance as an evaluation factor. Hard copies of the specification and solicitation will not be issued. It is incumbent upon contractors to monitor the FEDBIZOPPS website for RFQ release and all subsequent amendments. FEDBIZOPPS also contains an optional automatic notification service. THE ACQUISITION WILL BE SOLICITED AS A SMALL BUSINESS SET-ASIDE. Applicable drawings are available via email to contractors upon request not later than three (3) days from the solicitation issuance. The performance period will be twenty five (25) calendar days and is expected to begin on or about 18 APR 2011. The place of performance will be at the cutter's home pier located at 1 FERRY ROAD, GALVESTON, TX 77553. The scope of the acquisition is to provide various repairs including but not limited to: D-01 Clean, Inspect & Test Compressed Air Receivers; D-02 Provide Temporary Services; D-03 Renew Watertight Hatch (External), Renew; D-04 Deck Covering (Interior Wet), Renew; D-05 Main Deck Deckhouse Window Renewal; D-06 Air Handler Units, Renew; O-0A Composite Labor Rate D-0B GFP Report D-0C Travel and Per Diem All welding and brazing shall be accomplished by trained welders who have been certified by the applicable regulatory code performance qualification procedures.
