Description
General Information Subject: Request for Information/Materials Post Date: 02-18-11 Response Date: 03-04-11 Contracting Office Address RDECOM Acquisition Center - Natick, ATTN: AMSRD-ACC-N, Natick Contracting Division (R and BaseOPS), Building 1, Kansas Street, Natick MA 01760-5011 RFI Body Description of the Government's needs The Natick Soldier Research Development and Engineering Center (NSRDEC), and more specifically Warfighter Science Technology and Applied Research Directorate (WARSTAR) has an acquisition requirement of a bipotentiostat. Sources must be able to manufacture; testing; provide control software to run the bipotentiostat, and deliver within 60 days of contract award. The bipotentiostat is required to provide potential and current to conductive samples to be examined and imaged with Bruker-nano Dimension ICON atomic force microscope (AFM). It shall include the following at a minimum: (i) proven compatibility with the Dimension ICON AFM and its electrochemical AFM module functionality and operation. (ii) This equipment shall be a computerized bipotentiostat which has a fast built-in function generator and data acquisition system. The waveform update rate shall be up to 10 MHz, and the data acquisition rate is 1 MHz at high resolution of 16-bit. (iii) The potential control range shall be +/- 10V and the current range shall be +/-250mA. (iv) The instrument shall be capable of measuring current down to tens of picoamperes. (v) The bipotentiostat shall have the scan rate in cyclic voltammetry up to 500 V/s with a 0.1mV potential increment, or 5000V/s with a 1mV potential increment. (vi) The instrument shall have a very wide dynamic range of experimental time scale and current measuring capabilities (1pA - 250 mA). (vii) The instrument shall include a multiple data acquisition system that allow an external input signal (viii) This bipotentiostat shall allow the potentials of two working electrodes to sweep and step simultaneously, and to be held at different potentials independently. (ix) The instrument shall include an external signal recording channel which allows spectroscopic or other signals to be recorded with the electrochemical data. (x) The AC impedance frequency of this equipment shall be 0.0001 to 100 KHz, extend to 1MHz for impedance 10-1000 ohm. (xi) This bipotentiostat shall include potential and current output connectors. This Request for Information should be considered an open call for providing the government's bipotentiostat equipment needs. This RFI is solely for information purposes and does not constitute a solicitation or the issuance thereof. All information received in response to this RFI that is marked proprietary will be handled accordingly. Responses to this RFI are not offers and cannot be accepted by the Government to form a binding contract. Any information submitted will not be returned, and no payment will be made by the government for such information. Any information/samples submitted will not be returned, and no payment will be made by the government for such samples. Responses to this notice are to be sent to Pearl Yip, ATTN: RDNS-WSC-M, 15 Kansas St., Natick, MA 01760-5019. This notice is for market survey only. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR QUOTATIONS. POC for this request is Pearl Yip (pearl.yip@us.army.mil). Email your questions to US Army Natick Soldier Research, Development, and Engineering Center at pearl.yip@us.army.mil. Please submit your response with the following information: 1. Company information: a. Name, b. CAGE code, c. background description, and d. qualifications 2. Point of contact: a. name, b. email, and c. telephone number
