Description

PRESOLICITATION NOTICE RENOVATE EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT (558-10-119) The Department of Veterans Affairs, 508 Fulton Street, Durham, North Carolina has a requirement for a contractor to provide all labor, material, supplies, equipment, transportation, permits, license and qualified supervision for Project 558-10-119, Renovate Emergency Department at the Durham VA Medical Center, Durham, North Carolina. The work will consist of general demolition, construction, interior finishes, fire protection, plumbing, HVAC and electrical work necessary to renovate approximately 12,000 SF of space in the F-wing of the 1st Floor of the main hospital building. All work performed must meet all applicable codes and regulations and be in strict accordance with the contract drawings and specifications. The period of performance is 540 days for the entire project with the project area being divided into two phases. The period of performance for the 1st phase is 300 calendar days and the 1st phase must be completed and fully operational for the medical center's use before work can begin in the 2nd phase area. Estimated construction cost is between $2,000,000 and $5,000,000. This is a Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business Set-Aside. The solicitation will be conducted in accordance with FAR part 15 (Contracting by Negotiation) and part 36(Construction) and will be evaluated with procedures therein. Bidding material/drawings will be available on/about March 11, 2011. The specifications, drawings and amendments/notices, if any, will be posted on this web site. Proposals will be due 30 days after issuance of the solicitation. This notice is for informational purposes only and is not a request for proposals. The Government is not obligated to issue a solicitation as a result of this notice. No other information is available until issuance of the solicitation. No bidders list is maintained.
