- Description
- CIVIL ENGINEER 1. As an engineer, provide advice to Mission management about project design, budget and timetable. 2. Monitor and oversee all phases of the design and construction of individual USAID infrastructure projects. 3. Assist in the development of design standards for USAID projects. In particular, insure compliance with environmental regulations and policies as well as ensuring that sufficient seismic, hurricane, public health and related standards are used to design and construct the projects. 4. Assist in the preparation of IEE's and EMR's as necessary to facilitate the procurement of construction projects. 5. Prepare the Scope of Work for and participate in the selection of appropriate design and quality control professionals required for the preparation of the construction procurement documents and provide oversight for the construction. 6. Prepare the Scope of Work for and participate in the selection of appropriate construction contractors needed for the implementation of infrastructure projects. 7. Assist in the Tech panels leading up to the award of contracts for design and quality control professionals and contracts for implementation of construction and assist in the oversight the various construction projects. 8. Maintain records and report on progress of the project to Mission management as needed. 9. Oversee the preparation of operating manuals and the training of personnel in the operation and maintenance of the facilities and equipment. 10. Oversee the preparation of "as-built" drawings and other information as needed.
