- This Pre-Solicitation Notice is being issued by the United States Army Corps of Engineers - Chicago District to inform interested/potential contractors of the District's imminent issue of an Invitation for Bids to obtain ecosystem restoration services for the "NORTHWEST INDIANA WETLANDS PROJECT" (DUPONT AND LAKE MARY IN EAST CHICAGO, INDIANA AND SIEDER-BEEMSTERBOER IN HAMMOND, INDIANA). PROJECT INFORMATION: Under the contract set, the Contractor will be responsible rehabbing Ridge and Swale and Mesic Prairie habitat types located on the Seidner-Beemsterboer Wetlands. The work will also include eradicating invasive plant species throughout the site and removing existing railroad rails. In addition, the Lake Mary portion of the project will include establishing 7 acres of hemi marsh habitat, 7 acres of mesic prairie habitat and 1 acre of lacustrine habitat. Lastly, the Amoco Wetland area is a 28 acre site consisting of hemi marsh habitat for proposed planting. The work will consist of eradicating invasive plant species throughout the site and planting native seeds and plugs. ACQUISITION INFORMATION: Competition for this acquisition is RESTRICTED to SMALL BUSINESS CONCERNS. The Classification Code for this procurement is North American Industry System Code 561730, which applies a small business size standard in dollars of $7.0M. The Invitation for Bids (IFB) Package will be downloadable from the INTERNET ONLY. The project specification files are Portable Document Format (PDF) files and can be viewed, navigated or printed using Adobe Acrobat Reader. Interested Bidders can download the IFB Package from the Internet Site http://www.Fbo.gov. The IFB will be available at the above-mentioned Internet site on 14 March 2011. Bids will be due by 2:00pm CDT on 14 April 2011. In order for contractors to be awarded contracts with the Department of Defense, the contractor must be registered in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR); Contractors can access the CCR for free at http://www.ccr.gov.
