- This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. NAICS Code:541511 Subject:Commercial Software Solicitation Number:W31P4Q-11-T-0076 Description:Software Support and Maintenance It is the Government's intent to award a Firm Fixed Price P.O. for the following commercial off-the-shelf hardware: 1.P/N: None, Unreal Engine 3 Software Support and Maintenance Qty: 1Year This requirement is intended to be a sole source to Epic Game, Inc, 620 Crossroads Blvd, Cary, NC 27518. Epic Game is the only provider for the Unreal Engine 3 development platform. Unreal Engine 3 development platform is for artists and designers to develop assets in a visual environment with minimal programmer assistance, as well as giving programmers a highly modular, scalable and extensible framework for building, testing, and deploying games in a wide range of genres. The Unreal Engine 3 is provided as one unified codebase that compiles on personal computer (PC) and all supported current-generation console platforms. All game content and data files are compatible across all supported platforms, for fast turnaround time between code and content development on PC, and testing on console or PC. The Unreal Engine 3 provides the platform and tools needed for asset enhancements and the development of cutting-edge recruiting or training modules for The Army Game Studio. Authority Cited: Statutory Authority permitting other than Full and Open Competition for this requirement is 10 U.S.C. 2304 (C)(1), as implemented by paragraphs 6.302-1 of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) entitled - only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The solicitation number for this requirement is W31P4Q-11-T-0076. This solicitation is issued as a Request for Quote (RFQ). The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular. The provision at 52.212-1, Instructions to Offerors - Commercial, the clause at 52.212-4, Contract Terms and Conditions - Commercial Items, and clause 52.212-5 Contract Terms and Conditions Required to Implement Statutes or Executive Orders -Commercial Items, apply to this acquisition. Delivery of the commercial hardware will be made FOB Destination to: US Army RDECOM, SED, RDMR-BAT (Marsha Berry), Building 6264, Hackberry Road, Redstone Arsenal, AL 35898-5260.
