Special Notice This notice is published for informational purposes only and not as a request for competitive proposals. The Department of Veterans Affairs Health Care System James A. Haley in Tampa, FL intends to award a "Sole Source" (Justification for Other Than Full and Open Competition) contract, in accordance with FAR 6.302-1(a)(2) Only One Responsible Source to Ventana Medical Systems for the procurement of Histology Stainer Reagents. These reagents from Ventana Medical Systems are the only found Antibody and Special Staining Systems that are bar code driven and walk-away technology. Deparaffinization and antigen retrieval are both accomplished on instrument and no manipulation of slides or reagents is required during the staining procedure meeting our lab requirements. They must conform to the specifications needed to comply with exacting standards of operation and reliability to safely interface with Ventana Bench Mark XT Automated Slide prep Systems that exist in our lab. This requirement will be classified under NAICS 334516. No solicitation document is available. Interested persons may respond to the requirement by 03:00 pm Eastern Standard Time, March 31, 2011.
