Description
Statement of Work NOAA's Marine Engineering Division has a requirement for dockside repairs to the NOAA ship Ka'Imimoana. The contractor shall provide all supervision, material, and labor necessary to perform modifications, repairs, and preservation to the NOAA ship Ka'Imimoana. The mooring shall be accomplished at the government's facility in San Diego, CA. Performance of work is tentatively scheduled to begin on or about May 16 2011 and be completed July 10, 2011, with specific period of performance dates to be announced at the time of the issuance of the solicitation. This notice is being published pending the availability of FY 11 funds. This procurement is a 100% small business set-aside. The NAICS code for this procurement is 336611 and the size standard is 1,000 employees. The work consists of approximately 9 basic items, and 9 option items, any of which are subject to change at the Government's discretion upon issuance of the solicitation. BASIC REQUIREMENTS may include, but are not limited to: Replace Fire Alarm & Detection System; Fire Main modifications; Replace Resilient Mounts on SSDG #3; Clean Ventilation System; Replace Auxiliary Sea Water Pumps; Replace Propulsion Motor Room Sea Water Strainer; Install Davit & SOLAS Rescue Boat; Protective Coverings and Cleaning; and Weight Control. OPTION REQUIREMENTS may include, but are not limited to: Repair/Replace Locker Doors; UT Piping in Void; Repair Void Hatch; Renew Head Decking; Fabricate & Install Boom Rest Platform for 02 Deck Crane; Replace Grated Deck Door; Install Louver Panels to Stateroom Doors; Miranda Davit Wear Plate; and Additional Government Requirements. General Vessel specifications: Length (LOA): 224 ft.; Breadth 43 ft.; Draft 15.0 ft.; and Displacement: 2,300 tons. It is anticipated the vessel will be available for pre-bid inspection at Ford Island, Honolulu, HI on March 26, 2011 to April 3, 2011. A pre-bid inspection can be arranged 2-3 days prior to your visit by contacting the Contract Specialist at the e-mail address provided below. All responsible and fully responsive sources may submit a bid which will be considered by the Agency. Any resulting contract will be awarded as a firm-fixed price contract. Solicitation documents will be made available for download on or around March 22, 2011 at http://www.fedbizopps.gov/. Paper copies of this solicitation will not be issued.
