Description
This solicitation will be issued for a HUBZONE set-aside. The project consists of a Schedule A, Schedule B, Option X and Option Y. Schedule A includes all of El Portal, Hodgdon Meadow and Yosemite Valley. Schedule A includes approximately 253,000 square yards of ultra-thin bonded wearing course, 59,000 square yards of single layer chip seal, 272,000 square yards of micro-surfacing, and 2,500 square yards of pavement patching. This patching will be at locations designated by the Project Engineer. This project will require approximately 7,600 cubic yards of earthwork, 28,500 tons of aggregate base (statistically evaluated), 12,000 ton of super-pave (statistically evaluated), 2,400 square yards of reinforced rigid pavement, 990 lineal feel of precast pre-stressed concrete slabs and 3,000 square yards of vinyl sheet piles (or other mechanically stabilized wall system). Option X includes the work along Glacier Point Road in Yosemite National Park. The work includes approximately 69,000 square yards of ultra-thin bonded wearing course, 79,000 square yards of single chip seal, 58,000 square yards of double chip seal, 55,000 square yards of micro-surfacing, and 150 square yards of pavement patching. The preservation treatments being use are chip seals, modified slurry seals and ultra-thin bonded wearing course. Other construction applications used on a lesser scale are pavement patching, crack sealing and pavement markings. This project uses a combination of funding sources. Included are Federal Lands Highway Program funds and National Park Service cyclic maintenance funds. Advertisement is expected in March of 2011. The contracting range for this project is between $5 million and $10 million. Construction is expected to occur from late April to September 30, 2011.
