Description
This is the second notice and serves as the official synopsis. The Federal Bureau of Prisons, Field Acquisition Office, located in Annapolis Junction, Maryland anticipates issuance of a solicitation to replace HVAC Units at the Federal Correctional Institution (FCI I-Medium) located in Butner, North Carolina. The successful contractor shall provide all material, labor, equipment and expertise for the construction project. The estimated magnitude of this project is between $500,000 and $1,000,000. This project requires a specific brand name product. A justification for other than full and open competition has been posted on this web site, outlining this requirement for all offerors to use only the Brand Name specified. This is not a brand name or equal condition. This project will be solicited on an unrestricted basis and is open to all businesses, both large and small. Schneider Electric Buildings Americas, Inc is the only known sole authorized distributor and servicing agent for the Andover system. Comments from interested parties shall be sent, in writing, to Mellisa Rhinehart, Contracting Officer, at mjrhinehart@bop.gov no later than 4:00 PM EST on Thursday, March 24, 2011. The NAICS code for this requirement is 238210 which contain a size standard of $14 million. The period of performance is 180 calendar days from the notice to proceed. Any contractor interested in obtaining a contract award with the Federal Bureau of Prisons must be registered at www.ccr.gov and http://orca.bpn.gov. Faith-Based and Community-Based Organizations can submit offers/bids/quotations equally with other organizations for contracts for which they are eligible. The successful contractor shall be responsible for all applicable federal, state and local taxes. No tax exemption certificate will be issued by the Federal Bureau of Prisons. The issuance of solicitation RFPP01061100001 will be on or about March 30, 2011. The solicitation will be distributed through the General Services Administration Federal Business Opportunities web site at www.fbo.gov. Hard copies of the solicitation will not be available. The site provides downloading instructions. All future information about this acquisition, including amendments, will be distributed through this site. Interested parties are responsible for monitoring this site to ensure that they have the most up-to-date information about this acquisition.
