THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT SYNOPSIS ONLY. This is not a request for offers or proposals. This notice does not represent a commitment by the Government to issue a solicitation or award a contract. This is a market research tool being utilized to determine the availability and adequacy of potential small business sources with the capabilities and experience to perform the required work. This announcement is seeking information regarding contractors who qualify under the 8(a), HUBZone, Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business Programs and/or a Small Business. The Government is not obligated to and will not pay for information received as a result of this announcement. Requests for a solicitation will not receive a response. (For additional information on small business size standards and small business programs, please visit www.sba.gov) The General Services Administration (GSA), Great Lakes Region (Region 5), is conducting a market survey and is seeking sources for general contractor services. The requirement for this opportunity includes office remodeling of approximately, 2,125 square feet in part of a basement of an existing parking garage. The work is for temporary offices that shall be utilized by a tenant agency during construction. The NAICS code for this procurement is 236220. The estimated construction cost is between $250,000 and $500,000. The work includes demolition throughout the space, including removal of the existing suspended ceiling, and partition walls. New work includes installation of gypsum drywall partitions, new doors frames and hardware, suspended ceiling, tile, carpeting and repainting. Electrical work includes new power outlets, new lighting fixtures and controls, conduits infrastructure for telephone, data and security systems. Mechanical work includes modification to the existing ventilation system and a new supplemental cooling system. Space on other parts of the basement will remain occupied during the remodeling and is generally outside the contract scope; however, the electrical and mechanical systems will be routed through this area as part of the work. Disruption to this area must be kept to a minimum. This project will take place at O'Hare International Airport which is owned and operated by the City of Chicago's Department of Aviation. It will be the contractor's responsibility to provide all the management, supervision, manpower, equipment and supplies necessary for completing the architectural, mechanical, electrical, telecommunication, fire protection and life safety construction for the design build out. No other information will be available at this time. If you are an interested General Contractor, please provide a capabilities package which includes the following information. All information submitted is subjected to verification. Additional information may be requested to substantiate responses. 1. A short statement regarding the general contractor's expertise and experience on construction projects similar in scope and total project cost. 2. Is your firm an 8(a), HUBZone Small Business, Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business, and/or a Small Business? Please indicate the applicable representation(s). 3. Does your firm meet the Small Business standard (average receipts less than $33,500,000.00 for the past three years)? Interested General Contracting firms should include in their capabilities package three projects completed within the last five years similar to the work described above. Provide a customer point of contact for each project listed (e.g. telephone number and email address). Interested General Contracting firms should, also, submit information to the Contracting Officer at the address and/or email provided. Mailing address is U. S.
