Description
The Healthcare Acquisition Activity-North intends to issue a Firm Fixed Price, sole source award to Phillips Electronics N.A. for their Intellivue Smart Hopping Wireless System at the Ireland Army Community Hospital, 289 Ireland Avenue; Fort Knox, KY 40121. This procurement is being conducted under Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP) for commercially available items. Only one responsible source is reasonably available due to the fact that Philips Healthcare is the only vendor for this propietary equipment that is already in place. The procurement of the Philips Intellivue Smart Hopping Wireless System with MP5 system will expand on the capabilities and will seamlessly expand and integrate with the existing systems, components, and equipment to allow the Fort Knox to standardize its systems. Currently, Ireland Army Community Hospital is using existing Philips hardware and software at its 2B and PACU Department. This vendor is the Original Equipment Manufacturer and the only source that can furnish the requirements to the exclusion of other sources (e.g., unique features, function of the item, direct replacement parts/components for existing equipment, patent, copyright, and proprietary data). The new Intellivue Smart Hopping Wireless System will allow staff to view past captured data that might otherwise be lost in transfer. The Phillips Intellivue Smart Hopping Wireless System will work simultaniously with the older phillips propietary system. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) for this requirement is 423450 and the size standard is 100 Employees. All responsible sources may submit a response. A determination by the Government to not compete this requirement will be based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. A solicitation will not be issued. Interested firms may identify their interest in writing to the Government point of contact. Responses to this notice must be received no later than 11:00 AM 22 March 2011. Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice. The point of contact for this action is Jeremy Michaels at jeremy.d.michaels@us.army.mil.
