Description
This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotations are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. This solicitation number is RFQ-1990538 and solicitation is issued as a Request for Quotation (RFQ). The solicitation document and incorporated provision and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 2005-50. The North American Industry Classification (NAICS) is 334516 and the Business Size Standards is 500 employees. The National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) seeks to procure one (1) CHAMELEON SYSTEM: ULTRA (II): 80 MHz (RoHS). The CHAMELEON ULTRA II hands-free ultrafast Ti:Sapphire laser provides femtosecond pulses tuning more than 400nm, from 680nm to 1080nm, with a peak power of >3.5W, in a single box. Fully automated for the ultimate ease-of-use the Chameleon is operated either via a simple menu-driven interface located on the power supply, or via an external computer. The Chameleon system provides high power and superb beam quality, the Chameleon's sealed design and Verdi pump laser ensures it is the quietest, most efficient and most reliable hands-free ultrafast system available. The system requires only single-phase AC power and operates for thousands of hours without maintenance. The system includes: 1. Optimized beam shape, pulsewidth, broadest tuning range ensures the highest peak powers are delivered for microscope-based imaging applications; 2. Compact laser head, power supply with integrated control interface, and closed-loop water chiller; 3. The patent-pending MRU-X1 compact, closed-loop air re-circulator, which provides effortless tuning through atmospheric water vapor absorption lines above 920nm, without the need for an external purge; 4.The Power Pulse control system, which ensures output power and pulse width optimized automatically at all wavelenths and at all times. 5. An onboard spectrometer that measures laser output wavelength and bandwidth, which can be interfaced to an external computer via a USB connection on the laser head. Quotations must be good for 30 days after close of solicitation. Shipping must be FREE on BOARD (FOB) DESTINATION, BALTIMORE, MARYLAND. The selected offeror must comply with the following commercial item TERMS and CONDITIONS, which are incorporated herein by reference: FAR 52.212-1, Instructions to Offerors -- Commercial Items; FAR 52.212-3, Offeror Representations and Certifications Commercial Items, must be included with offer; FAR 52.212-4, Contrast Terms and Condition Commercial Items, applies to this acquisition; FAR 52.212-5, Contract Terms and Conditions Required to Implement Statutes or Executive Orders Commercial Items, applies to this acquisition. To be eligible for an award, offeror must be registered with the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) at website http://www.ccr.gov and must have completed the online electronic Representations and Certifications located at http://www.orca.bph.gov.
