Description

The Department of Veterans Affairs Audie L. Murphy Memorial Hospital, San Antonio, TX, VISN 17, intends to negotiate a sole-source contract with an affiliate 'University of Texas Health Science Center - San Antonio' Biomedical Research Foundation to provide statistician services for the VA HSR&D research projects entitled 'Surgical Treatment Outcomes for Patients with Psychiatric Disorders (STOPP)' (Protocol #IIR 09-335) and 'Identifying and Validating Complex Co-morbidity Clusters in OEF-OIF Veterans (TRACC)' (Protocol #DHI 09-337) under the direction of Dr. Mary Jo Pugh. NAICS code 541711. Justification for this sole source procurement is in accordance with FAR 6.302-3(a) (2) (ii), to establish or maintain an essential research and development capability to be provided by a federally funded research and development center. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. It is not a solicitation or request for offers. No solicitation package is available. A determination not to compete is solely within the discretion of the Government. Any response to this notice must show clear and convincing evidence that competition would be advantageous to the Government. If no valid responses are received, the South Texas Veterans Health Care System will proceed with the intended sole source contract. Responses must be received no later than 9:00 AM CST on 3/29/2011.
