- VA Illiana Health Care System, 1900 East Main Street, Danville, IL 61832 anticipates soliciting bids and consequently awarding a contract for Project No. 550-10-101, Renovate Clinic Space, Building 98, Phase II. The VA is seeking a Contractor to provide all labor, supervision, materials, equipment, and supervision to renovate approximately 36,000 square feet of clinical space in Building 98, per contract drawings and specifications. The project includes but is not limited to renovation of approximately 36,000 square feet each of clinical space within Building 98 on the VA Illiana Health Care System, Danville VA Medical Center Campus, 1900 East Main Street, Danville, IL. Construction shall be in accordance with all contract documents, specifications, requirements, drawings, local and VA building requirements. The project will encompass the following renovated or new buildings elements: 1. Coordination of certain construction efforts to be scheduled during non operating hours of Building 98, 2. Removal of asbestos material, 3. Demolition of existing walls, interior doors, and finishes, 4. Thermal and moister protection, 5. New mechanical systems to be incorporated into existing mechanical systems, 6. Installation of new fire protection system into existing fire protection systems, 7. Installation of new metal, wood, and plastic elements of construction, and 8. Installation of new finishes, ceilings, and flooring elements of construction. Completion Time: 370 days from receipt of Notice to Proceed. All workers on-site must be OSHA certified (one competent person must have 30 hour certificate and all other workers, prime and subcontractors, must have 10 hour certificate). The solicitation will be conducted in accordance with FAR Part 14 (SEALED BIDDING) and Part 36 (CONSTRUCTION) and will be evaluated in accordance with the procedures therein. The solicitation is 100% set-aside for SERVICE DISABLED VETERAN OWNED SMALL BUSINESS CONCERNS capable of performing the required work. Bids from other than service disabled veteran owned small business concerns will not be considered and shall be rejected. The SDVOSB must be small under relevant North American Industrial Classification Standard (NAICS) code and MUST be registered and verified in the following websites: http://www.vip.vetbiz.gov, http://www.ccr.gov, and https://orca.bpn.gov to be eligible for award. Bidders MUST ensure your registrations in these websites are correct, accurate, and current. The Contracting Officer is not responsible for this information. The North American Industry Classification Code (NAICS) for this procurement is 236220 and size standard $33.5 million applies. In accordance with FAR 36.204, disclosure of the magnitude of this construction project is between $2,000,000 and $5,000,000. As authorized by FAR 5.102, solicitation dissemination is limited to electronic medium, and VA will provide no hard copies. The solicitation, VA-251-11-IB-0049, consisting of various bid documents, specifications, forms, and drawings will be available for download at no charge at the Federal Business Opportunities (FBO) System website (http://www.fbo.gov) on or about April 1, 2011 with a due date to be specified in the solicitation. Further details of all dates and events, including site visit and bid opening date, will be available in the solicitation. All interested bidders (prime contractors & subcontractors) should register at www.fedbizopps.gov so that others will know of your interest in participating in this procurement and for automatic receipt of updates and/or amendments. A Bidders Mailing List WILL NOT be prepared nor distributed by the Contracting Officer, as it is the Bidders responsibility to register at the Fedbizopps website. Bidders are advised that they are responsible for obtaining all bid documents and acknowledging any amendments, and should re-visit the FBO website periodically to check for any modifications to this notice, updates, or amendments without further notice from the VA. This notice is for informational purposes only and is not a request for submission of offers. No other information is available until issuance of the solicitation.
