- Scope of Work Job Number 518-10-07 Building 4 Recreation Room Renovate Recreation Room The purpose of this job is to renovate the existing recreation room located in Building 4 / Basement to enhance the quality of living for veterans that utilize this space. Work will include general construction, basic framing, basic electrical installations, television communication installation, VCT flooring, drywall, cove base placement, installation of handrails and wall gaurds, installation of automatic door openers. Demolition: 1.The contractor shall assume all responsibility of items/equipment/debris removed or demolished. 2.All demolition work shall be completed in accordance with Scope of Work and VA Plans. 3.Provide dust protection for demolition and construction in all areas of work according to ICCP for class III/IV construction. 4.Provide and use walk-off mats or construction Sticky mats for exiting the work site during demolition and construction. 5.Isolate local HVAC system associated with demolition and construction to prevent dust contaminations to surrounding areas covering and sealing the return and supply. 6.Provide enclosed dust transport to carry debris to truck beds and govern flow of material into truck. Debris, including concrete, stane, metals, and similar materials shall become the property Contractor and shall be disposed of by him off the Medical Center every work day. VAMC dumpsters may not be used. 7.Clean and vacuum work site at the end of every work day. In the event that dirt or debris resulting from contract work is tracked outside the work site, clean immediately. Cleaning equipment will not be provided by the VAMC. 8.Coordinate all utility shutdowns with VA COTR. 9.Remove all existing portable items of equipment and furnishings away from work area. Store according to directions of COTR. Also cover all equipment and items unable to be removed in immediate work area with plastic. Construction: 1.All new construction shall correspond to VA Drawings and Specifications and Scope of Work contained herein. 2.Contractor will be responsible for the replacement/patching of any walls or ceilings disturbed and or damaged by construction. 3.Construct two (2) partition walls as shown on VA Drawings to create a new storage room. Walls shall be 5/8" sheet rock and 3-5/8" metal studs, 16" O.C. from finished floor to 4" inches above existing suspended ceiling. 4.Furnish and install (1) single pole electrical light switch as shown on VA Drawings and as noted in VA Specifications. Intention of this switch will be to control lighting within the newly created "Storage Room". (See No. 2 Above) Reroute electrical wiring to separate storage room lighting from lighting in main room. Maintain existing electrical switch at north end of main room to control remaining lights located in main room. 5.Patch, prime and paint all new work and all areas affected by construction to match existing. Standard Bedford V.A.M.C. paint colors shall be used throughout based on "California" brand color standards. 6.Furnish and install (3) standard electrical outlets along southerly wall of newly constructed storage room as shown on VA Drawings and as noted in VA Specifications. 7.Furnish and install new prefabricated "Dwyer" Kitchen Unit as shown on VA Drawings and as noted in VA Specifications. 8.Furnish and install (2) GFCI outlets as shown on VA Drawings and as noted in VA Specifications. 9.Furnish and install two (2) new automatic door openers with pushbutton controls for ingress / egress into the handicap bathrooms (Rooms B01D and B01B) as shown on VA drawings and as noted in VA specifications. Push button controls to be hard wired as noted in VA Specifications. 10.Furnish and install approximately 122' linear feet of vinyl handicap handrail as shown on VA Drawings and noted in VA Specifications. Contractor to verify linear footage called out in this Scope of Work. 11.Furnish and install approximately 189' linear feet of vinyl wall gaurd as shown on VA Drawings and noted in VA Specifications. Contractor to verify linear footage called out in this Scope of Work. 12.Provide and install 4' high X 8' Long "Dwyer" IPC Rigid Sheet wall guard and accessories on all wall surfaces within main recreation area as noted in VA Specifications. (Not to include Bathrooms) 13.Provide and install approximately 3,400 total square feet of VCT flooring as shown on VA Drawings and noted in VA Specifications. Contractor to verify square feet called out in this Scope of Work. 14.Provide and install 4" cove base to match existing colors on all newly constructed walls and replace any existing cove base disturbed by construction. ****END****
