Description
The General Services Administration has need for Professional Services (Fire Protection Engineer Support Services) for various Service Centers within the GSA National Capital Region. These professional services solicited under this requirement is to furnish fire protection engineering services, labor, material, equipment, etc., necessary to include but not limited to: test and evaluate fire protection systems, review project plans or submittals, prepare new specification or review of existing specification, building inspections, attendance at meetings representing the Government as the Authority having Jurisdiction (AHJ), provide consulting services, perform fire investigations, respond to requests by Building managers or Delegated Building Representatives to perform on-site inspections of suspected violations of fire protection engineering practices, etc. The complexity of review or evaluation may involve total building fire safety conceptual systems, including sophisticated emergency communications and fire alarm systems, smoke control, suppression systems and personnel movement schemes. The project may consist of alterations within buildings and can involve any of the above system review. The reviews and/or evaluations will require high quality professional and technical analysis and advice consistent with GSA Fire safety Criteria, GSA specifications and guidelines, Americans with Disabilities Act, Underwriters Laboratories, Inc. requirements, Society of Fire Protection Engineers (SFPE) Handbook and National Fire Protection Association Publications and the International Building Code. GSA intends to award a Multiple Award, Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract. Work will be ordered via firm-fixed price Task Orders in accordance with FAR Part 16.505. The Government intends to make multiple awards to Small Businesses within a 50-mile radius of Washington, DC. The period of performance for this award is one (1) year, with the option to be renewed for four (4) additional one year periods. The maximum annual contract amount, per contractor, is to be determined. The contract's guaranteed minimum amount is $1,000 (per contractor), base year only. The solicitation will be issued on or about March 28, 2011.
