- Description
- The Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division (NAWCAD), Lakehurst, NJ intends to negotiate on a non-competitive basis with Boeing Aircraft Company for an acquisition of two (2) prototype Trailer Adapters for the V-22 aircraft with an option to procure the as-built/shop drawings for the prototype. The adapters are intended to provide an interface between the existing trailer with the existing Environmental Control Unit (ECU) and the new ECU and Mid Wing Gear Box(MWGB). The existing trailer design was completed by Bell/Boeing Aircraft Company as the V-22 design agent for ground support equipment and they are the only source with data regarding the ECU and MWGB. Drawings to manufacture the adapter do not exist; however, Boeing has the knowledge and capability to develop a design and manufacture a prototype as the aircraft design agent. The Government does not own current data or other specifications to permit full and open competition. A determination by the Government not to open the requirement to competition based upon the response to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
