- Description
- This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued.___________________________________________________________________________________________This is solicitation number Q7482110007and is issued as a Request for Quotation. A WRITTEN SOLICITATION WILL NOT BE ISSUED.___________________________________________________________________________________________The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 47.___________________________________________________________________________________________This procurement is set aside for small business concerns. NAICS code 334519: Other Measuring and Controlling Device Manufacturing, Size Standard: 500 employees.__________________________________________________________________________________________The National Park Service contemplates award of a firm fixed price contract, as a result of this combined synopsis/solicitation, to the responsible, technically acceptable quoter, whose quote, conforming to the Combined Synopsis/Solicitation, offers the lowest evaluated price. Address questions regarding this quote to Jenny_harris@nps.gov.___________________________________________________________________________________________BRAND NAME JUSTIFICATION: The Geometrics G882 Marine Cesium Magnetometer is a high performance cesium vapor magnetometer. It has optional configurations that can include an altimeter and an echo sounder. It also has the highest rated sensitivity of any marine magnetometer in the industry at 0.0004nT/?Hz RMS. This high sensitivity is particularly important for the location of historic shipwrecks that may only have very small amounts of ferrous materials remaining to be detected. It is also highly portable at 44 lbs with 200 ft of cable, which is also crucial because of the fly-away needs of Submerged Resources Center instrumentation. A light-weight magnetometer like the G-882 can be shipped, carted, and carried more easily during projects in National Parks and beyond. Another feature of the G-882 is that it can be connected to other marine remote sensing devices, like the Klein 3000H side scan sonar that SRC owns and regularly uses. By connecting the magnetometer to the side scan, a single cable can tow both instruments which greatly reduce the risk of entanglements, have a smaller footprint for small boats like SRC's Cal Cummings, and reduce the risk of employee injury due to heavy lifting. Along with its compatibility with the side scan, SRC already possesses cables and ancillary hardware for a Geometrics 881 marine magnetometer that are compatible with the G-882, a slip ring that is compatible, software for the G-882, and processing software for the G-882. Parts and accessories for SRC's G-881 are interchangeable with the G-882, which greatly reduces future costs for options, provides field redundancy and reliability and will benefit the government via instrument standardization. In addition, the magnetometer must have both a pressure sensor and an altimeter to allow for precise location of the instrument in the water column to maximize survey effectiveness and to generate data that will allow for accurate post-processing and amplification of selected data. ___________________________________________________________________________________________ STATEMENT OF WORK (SOW): The National Park Service Submerged Resources Center is seeking to acquire a towed marine magnetometer to assist with submerged cultural resources survey, inventory and assessment. --Magnetometer must be towed and specifically designed for the marine environment. --Instrument must have a sensitivity of 0.05 nT at 1 Hz or better. --Instrument must have a pressure sensor. --Instrument must have an altimeter. --Instrument must be depth rated to at least 300 ft. --Both depth and altitude data must be included in the data stream for post-processing. --Instrument must be compatible with SRC's Klein 3000H side scan sonar and capable of being towed on a jumper cable from the sonar fish. --Instrument must output digital data and be compatible with SRC's existing hydrographic survey software- Coastal Oceanographics HYPACK 2010. --Instrument must be light weight and capable of deployment by a two person team from a small boat. --Instrument must be compatible with SRC's existing magnetometer cabling, winch, slip-ring and software. --Currently SRC utilizes a Geometrics 881 towed marine magnetometer.___________________________________________________________________________________________DELIVER TO: IMR-SRC-Submerged Resources Center, Attn: Kathryn Desiree Sousha, 12795 West Alameda Parkway, Lakewood, Colorado, 80228.
