- Announcement of Opportunity PAE0001 Mees-to-Mees Electrical Routing Project at the Mees Observatory Haleakalā Observatory, Maui, Hawai'i The Association of Universities for Research in Astronomy, Inc. (AURA), on behalf of the National Solar Observatory, is soliciting Request for Quotes (RFQ) from licensed electrical contractors in the State of Hawai‘i for complete rerouting of the electrical service and fiber communications feed, switch-overs, and verification testing at the Mees Observatory. The Mees Observatory is located within the boundaries of Haleakalā High Altitude Observatory Site (HO) at the summit of Haleakalā, Maui, Hawai‘i. This effort is funded through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (ARRA) (Public Law 111-5) and the requirements set forth at 2 CFR Part 176, "Award Terms for Assistance Agreements that include funds under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009, Public Law 111-5," shall be applied. Firms interested in receiving the RFQ documentation for this procurement should send a one page letter of interest to the Contracts Officer, AURA-ATST Project by either fax (520-318-8500) or email (ATSTproposal@noao.edu) and must be received not later than Friday, April 1, 2011, 3:00 PM MST. The letter of interest should reference Announcement of Opportunity No. PAE0001 and include physical mailing address, telephone number, fax number, and email address (if available) for a contact person. Upon receipt of a letter of interest, interested firms will be provided the RFQ documentation.
