Description

The Nevada Skies Youth Wellness Center, Wadsworth, NV 89442, a 16 bed residential treatment center for Native American youth 12-18 years of age, is in need of a psychiatrist to provide psychiatric services 8 hours per week to the residents and consult with the Treatment Team. The treatment center delivers residential treatment services in an integrated multi-disciplinary manner to adolescents affected by chemical dependence, dysfunctional family behaviors, cross-cultural problems and a full range of addiction problems complicated by psychological difficulties such as child neglect and abuse. Substance use disorders are the primary diagnosis; however 25-40% of these youth may experience symptoms or meet criteria for a co-occurring mental health disorder or a behavioral disorder (e.g., depression). The psychiatrist provides services to residents and works with the Treatment Team which is comprised of a full time Clinical Psychologist, 24 hour on site Nursing Staff, 2 full time Licensed Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counselors, and 1 full time Licensed Family Therapist.
