- This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for dry-dock repairs of the USGS Research Vessel Polaris. This combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items is prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation. Quotes are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. Solicitation Number G11PS00215 is being issued as a Request for Quotation (RFQ). This solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect throughout Federal Acquisition Circular: 05-48, dated January 31, 2011. The Research Vessel Polaris is 97 feet by 20 feet, 114 ton wooden vessel build in 1927 and cannot be moved beyond the vicinity of the San Francisco Bay Sacramento River Delta. Due to the age and construction of the vessel it must be put into a horizontal lifting dry-dock. The vessel will be available for repair between May 19, 2011 and June 10, 2011. Please see attachment with additional information, and applicable provisions and clauses. This combined Synopsis /Solicitation is not a small business set-aside. The NAICS code is 336611; Size Standard: 1000 employees. The Government anticipates an award of a commercial, Firm-Fixed Price type contract. To be considered for award, all interested parties must be certified with the Central Contractor Registration (CCR). To register with the CCR, go to the CCR web site at http://www.ccr.gov. Additionally, concerned parties should also be registered and certified with the Online Representations and Certifications (ORCA).
