- This is a sources sought synopsis for acquisition planning purposes only. Noformal solicitation exists at this time. All qualified firms are invited to submitcapabilities statements to demonstrate the firms ability to perform the services underthe functional areas listed below in the services to be acquired. The capabilitystatements received will be used to determine the appropriate procurement strategy andthe feasibility of set-aside procurement. NASA Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC) has a requirement for Information Sciences andTechnical Library Services in support of the GSFC libraries to be performed at Greenbelt,Maryland and Wallops Island, Virginia locations. The NAICS Code and Size Standard are 519120 and $7 M respectively.The functional areas and services to be provided under each are:1. Collection Building Pre-acquisition, Acquisition, Metadata Creation, MaterialProcessing, Transition Readiness, Transition Entrance, Quality and Timeliness2. Access Services - Collection Maintenance, Inventory Control, Quality andTimeliness, Inspection of New Facilities, Fire Alarm Testing3. Information Navigation - Effective utilization of Information resources,Probability Risk Assess (PRA)4. Electronic Library Services - Configuration, Management and Support of Library,Maintenance of Electronic Library5. Digital Preservation Services - Archiving Knowledge Assets, Add Images for theIMAGES, Database Requirements, Project Documentation, Capture Center Video6. Metrics and Reporting - Technical Reports, Administrative Report, StatisticalReport, Special Report7. Special Information and Library Services - Comply with all special informationand library services for complex investigation and pilot programs8. Special Knowledge Management - Information Content Management, InformationManagement Architecture, Learning InitiativesInterested firms having the capabilities necessary to provide the services should submita statement of capabilities that demonstrates approach, management and innovations andtechnological advances in providing the services. In addition the firms three mostrecent projects relevant in the scope of services to those listed above. Additionally,any awards or award nominations associated with the three projects listed should beprovided.All responses should contain the firms name, address, DUNS number, and phone number.
