Description

The Great Lakes Acquisition Center (GLAC) in Milwaukee, WI intends to negotiate on a sole source basis (IAW FAR 13) with Technical Communities, Inc, DBA Testmart, 1000 Cherry Ave Suite 100, San Bruno, CA 94066-2305 as the only source that is able to provide the Lumenis Versapulse Powersuite system as this is the only high power holmium laser system that can be used to perform holmium laser enucleation of the prostate (HOLEP). This laser is the only laser source that can provide the required wattage to perform the HOLEP procedure. Specifically, the contractor shall provide the following: Item 1: - Lumenis Powersuite 100W system, (Part #0638-803-01, Quantity 1); Item 2: - Morcellator Tissue Cutter, (Part #GA-0000200, Quantity 1); This acquisition is being conducted under simplified acquisition procedures (IAW FAR 13). There are no set-aside restrictions for this requirement. The intended procurement will be classified under North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) 339112 with a Small Business Size Standard of 500 employees. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals and no solicitation document exists for this requirement. However, parties interested in responding to this notice will need to submit technical data sufficient to determine capability in providing the same product. All capability statements received within 5 days after publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Capability statements shall be submitted by email only as a MS Word or Adobe PDF attachment to Scott Ivy at scott.ivy@va.gov Statements are due by 12:00 CST 01 April 2011. No phone calls accepted.
