- The National Park Service (NPS) shall be soliciting for replacement gears for a Grizzly Gear Reduction Unit. The solicitation calls for specific brand name products that are peculiar to one manufacturer.The Gear Works is the original product manufacture of this Grizzly 6:1 Gear Reduction Unit. The Gear Works has all the required specifications on gear size, material hardness, gear angle, shaft size, shaft hardness and tolerance specifications.The Gear Works is the sole proprietor of this Gear Reduction Unit. The Gear Works has all patents on the Grizzly model 500 6:1. Yellowstone National Park is asking for the exact gears replacements to insure the operation of this unit. The Gear Reduction Unit is a high RPM, high torque unit used on our rotary snow plows. The following is a description of the requirement: Model 500 6 to 1 Gear Reduction Grizzly.
