- This is a combined/synopsis solicitation for Commercial Items prepared in accordance with the information in FAR Subpart 12; using Simplified Acquisition Procedures for Commercial Items and authority of FAR 13, as supplemented with the additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes a combined synopsis/solicitation and is the ONLY notice that will be issued. A hard copy of the solicitation is included in the attachment. This combined synopsis/solicitation will be posted to NECO (https:\\www.neco.navy.mil/). The RFQ number is N00244-11-T-0163. This solicitation documents and incorporated provisions and clauses in effect through FAC 2005-49 and DFARS. It is the contractor s responsibility to be familiar with the applicable clauses and provisions. The clauses may be accessed in full text at these addresses: www.acqnet.gov/far. The closing date is March 31, 2011 at 4:00 p.m. Pacific Standard Time LEXAN CLEAR SHEET Manufacture: Lexan Size: 0.236 x 72 x 240 Quantity: 24 ea Extruded poly carbonate glazing grade sheets, UV stabilized, notched 1200 impact, strength of 12-16 lbs/in. ASTM-0256; elongation percentage of 110 per ASTM-D636. Heat deflection temperature 270 degrees @ 264 PSI per ASTM D-648, self ignition temperature greater than 1,000 deg. Fahrenheit ASTM D-1929, high impact cold formable. PACKING AND HANDLING: Lexan clear sheets shall be shipped with quantity of eight (8) sheets per crate. Crate material shall be sufficient to support sheets from bending, flexing, and damaging. Sheet surfaces, protective material shall be used on both widest sides of the sheets and between sheets to prevent scratches, Crate shall be constructed to protect and accommodate Leaxan sheets from all six sides.
