Description
This is a SOURCES SOUGHT ANNOUNCEMENT ONLY. It is neither a solicitation announcement nor a request for proposals or quotes and shall not obligate the Government to award a contract. The purpose of this Sources Sought Announcement is for market research to gain knowledge of potential qualified sources interested and capable of performing the work and obtain their size classification (Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business, Veteran Owned Small Business, 8(a), HubZone, Women Owned Small Business, Small Disadvantaged Business, etc.) relative to the North American Classification System (NAICS) Code 621111. Responses to this synopsis will be used by the Government to make appropriate acquisition decisions. After review of the responses to this Sources Sought Announcement, a solicitation announcement may be published at www.fbo.gov website. Responses to this Sources Sought Announcement are not considered adequate responses to any solicitation announcement that may result from this notice. All interested offerors will have to respond to the solicitation announcement in addition to responding to this Sources Sought Announcement. The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Durham, NC, VA Medical Center (Durham VAMC) has a future requirement for Endoscopy (Colonoscopy) Services. Contractors shall provide off-site endoscopy (colonoscopy) services within 30 days of the desired date to eligible beneficiaries as referred by the Durham VAMC including Morehead and Greenville Community Based Outpatient Clinics. The contractor shall be required to provide services up to 5 days per week during the entire contract period (twelve (12) month base period with four (4) 12 month option periods) excluding holidays. The anticipated work days and hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00AM to 4:30PM. The number of referrals per week will be determined by the VA on a case-by-case basis using information from the colonoscopy consult request. Referrals will be made to the contractor based on the geographic location of patients within the Durham catchment area (i.e., county, city, and/or vicinity). It is estimated that 50 patients will be referred per month. Services for the endoscopy (colonoscopy) shall be performed by only those providers credentialed to perform these procedures and who possess all licenses as required by State, Local and Federal entities. The contractor shall meet the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) or equivalent regulatory body standards. Services shall be provided on-site at the contractor location and travel to the contractor will be the responsibility of the veteran. Potential Sources who are interested and capable of providing the above services must demonstrate their experience and knowledge of the required services and the capability to provide such services. Potential sources should identify business name, point of contact, business size and any applicable business socio-economic category (i.e. small business, SDVOSB, VOSB, SB, etc), service capability statement, information for recent and relevant projects similar in nature, DUNS number, address and any additional information felt to be pertinent. The NAICS code for this procurement is 621111 and the small business size standard is $10.0 million. Written responses to this notice shall be electronically mailed in PDF format or word format to sandra.bennett3@va.gov or a hard copy mailed to: US Department of Veterans Affairs, Hampton VAMC, VISN 6 CAS, 100 Emancipation Drive, Bldg. 27, Attn: Ms. Sandra Bennett, Hampton, VA 23667. Telephone responses will not be accepted. Written responses must be received no later than 1:00 PM (EST), Monday, April 11, 2011. This notice is to assist the VA in determining sources only. A solicitation is not currently available. If a solicitation is issued, it will be announced separately from the responses to this announcement.
