- The Marine Corps Warfighting Laboratory (MCWL) seeks to obtain market research information from sources capable of fully satisfying the requirement for a commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) small, compact tele-operated forklift loader systems. This market research is for informational purposes only and should not be construed as a commitment of any kind. MCWL is interested in identifying vendors who are capable of providing small, compact tele-operated forklift loader systems. Such systems have the potential to be used in Combat Support Service Areas (CSSA) during future experimentation. The goal is to experiment with a system that is significantly lighter and more transportable than current program of record systems while retaining comparable capabilities. Guidelines for compact tele-operated forklift loader system include: - Small, compact tele-operated forklift loader system - Remote controller weighing less than 5 lbs with a range of at least 200 meters. - Lift capacity of at least 2,500 lbs. - Lift height of at least 8 feet. - Side load shift of at least 6 inches. - All wheel drive system. - Operation on military standard JP-8 fuel. - Engine rating of at least 30 horsepower. - System weight of no greater than 5,000 lbs. - System transport height of no more than 5 feet. Sources capable of fully satisfying the above requirements should submit to the Government an informational document describing their technologies in relation to the guidelines listed above. This document shall be no more than ten (10) pages in adobe acrobat format. Questions may be submitted in writing via email to the point of contact for this notice, Ms. Berniece Washington, Contracting Officer: berniece.washington@usmc.mil; and Ms. Arlene Fitzpatrick, Contract Specialist, arlene.fitzpatrick@usmc.mil. This sources sought is the initiation of market research under Part 10 of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), and is not a Request for Proposals (RFP). No solicitation document exists at this time. Issuance of this notice does not constitute any obligation on the part of the Government to procure these items or to issue a solicitation. In addition, the Government is under no obligation to pay for information submitted in response to this Notice, and responses to this notice cannot be accepted as offers. Any information that the vendor considers proprietary should be clearly marked as such. Responses to this Notice that indicate that the information therein is proprietary or represents confidential business information will be received and held in confidence for U.S. Government use only.
