Description

The Department of Commerce (DOC), National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), National Ocean Service (NOS), Center for Coastal Environmental Health and Biomolecular Research (CCEHBR), Charleston, SC intends to negotiate a sole-source follow-on contract for annual maintenance and software updates with Bruker Biospin Corp., 15 Fortune Dr., Billerica MA 01821 for its DMX-500 nuclear magnetic resonance spectrometer. The contract will be for a base period of 9 months with 4 option periods of 12 months each. The statutory authority for this sole source acquisition is 10 U.S.C 2304(c) (1) in accordance with FAR Part 6.302-, "Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy the agency requirement". Performance shall begin July 1, 2011. The applicable NAICS code is 811219 with a size standard of $19M. No solicitation package will be issued or posted to FedBizOps. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations; however, the Government will consider responses within fifteen (15) days from the publication of this notice to lynne.b.phipps@noaa.gov. No telephone requests will be honored. A determination by the Government not to compete the proposed acquisition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement in the future.
