- This is a NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD A SOLE SOURCE CONTRACT using Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 6.302-2, for Other than Full and Open Competition and FAR Part 13.5, Test Program for Certain Commercial Items. The US Army RDECOM Contracting Center, Aberdeen Installation Contracting Division, Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD 21005-3013, has a requirement to procure the following items: TG 2000-42 Heat Flux Sensor; AMP-15B Amplifier The intended delivery date for the item(s) is 30 April 2011. Under the authority of FAR 6.302-1, only one responsible source and no other will satisfy the agency requirements, the Government intends to award a sole source contract to Vatell Corporation, 240 Jennelle Road, Christiansburg, VA 24073. The vendor custom designed this sensor for the engineers of using activity. Efforts to solicit other contractors are being made via this announcement in accordance with FAR 5.2. The anticipated cost of this acquisition is determined fair and reasonable by comparison of prices proposed in other purchases of this nature. All responses received within 5 days after date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed purchases order based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement no later than 10:00 AM EDT, 08 April 2011. Any response to this notice must show clear and convincing evidence that competition would be advantageous to the Government in future procurements.
