Description
Electrical Underfloor Power Plan for the Joint Operation Center. The purpose of this amendment is to extend the quote submission period to 3:00 PM Alaskan Daylight Time, 5 April 2011, and to add the questions and answers posed by interested vendors who attended the site visit on 1 April 2011. The questions are as follows: 1. Is a wireless system an option? a. No. 2. Is there a third party control for the proposed system? a. No. 3. Will the proposed system hook into overhead speakers? a. No 4. How will the proposed microphones be connected to the audio system of the JOC? a. The system will have one input into the existing Biamp system in the JOC. 5. How will the cabling be installed? a. Cabling can be installed with J-hooks or other methods as the available space allows. 6. What are the dimensions of the room? a. 60 ft x 55 ft. 7. Is a particular color of cabling required? a. Red copper is required to separate this system from the cables of others in the same room/raceways. 8. What hours are available for contractor personnel to perform the installation? a. Typical hours of operation are 7 AM - 5 PM, Monday - Friday; however mission operations take precedence and can impact these hours. Contractor should be flexible to accommodate changes in schedule. 9. When does installation need to be completed? a. At the very latest, mid-May is the required completion date. 10. Is there special consideration for placing cables next to or near cables that carry classified data? a. Yes. Spacing requirements between cables are needed in certain areas. Shielded cables must be at least 5cm away from other cables and non-shielded must be 15cm away from other cables. Contractors shall coordinate with on-site personnel to meet these requirements during installation. 11. Is it preferred to quote the proposed installation time in hours or days? a. Contractors can quote how they see fit, as long as they specify how many hours they consider a work day. 12. How many microphones are required? a. A total of 34 microphones are required, three of which are chairperson units. 13. What are the other features required by this system? a. The system must have the ability to mute speakers. Chairperson units must have the ability to override other delegate microphones. Contractors must include the physical dimensions of the desktop units that will be installed in their proposal. 14. What types of access is available in the room? a. All of the floor tiles are removable for access to components in the floor. 15. What considerations are there for the work site? a. Base and JOC access will be provided. Contractors should be aware that the JOC is an operational center; therefore any tiles taken up during a work day must be replaced before leaving. The mission may require the contractor to work hours outside of a normal work day. An additional schematic of the electrical underfloor power plan for the JOC has been attached to this solicitation. All other questions should be addressed to bethany.carlan@elmendorf.af.mil
