Description
a.The contractor shall furnish all labor, equipment, materials, supplies, transportation, security and supervision necessary to satisfactorily accomplish the work in accordance with this Scope of Work. b.The government will provide shop drawings of most sites where the work will take place. There are no "as built" drawings available. The government will locate and mark all electric lines in the area. The location of the frost proof hydrants will be marked but the exact point of excavation and path of the dig shall be up to the contractor. The contractor shall excavate the soil in a manner as not to damage the existing water lines. In the event of damage to the existing waterlines, due to the contractor's excavation, the contractor shall be responsible for all labor and repairs at no additional cost to the government. In the event the contractor cuts the asphalt roadway to install a water line the repairs to the roadway shall be with the existing overburden laid in 1 foot lifts with compaction completed before the next lift is started. The finial 6 inches of the repair shall be a hot asphalt patch which shall be rolled with a roller capable of providing compaction and finish to meet that of the existing asphalt roadway. c.The contractor shall extend the line using 1 inch PVC schedule 80 pipe and fittings. The line shall be installed at a minimum depth of 3 feet using industry standards in bedding and backfill. d.Frost proof hydrants shall be the four foot bury type with a four foot square area cribbed around the site using 6 inch by 6 inch treated wood.
