- The Department of Defense Office Inspector General (DoD OIG) established a Honary Awards program as authorized by the Incentive Awards Act 5, United States Code (U.S.C.) Section 4503. The DoD OIG has a requirement to conduct its Annual Honorary Awards Ceremony to be held on May 6, 2011, to recognize and reward employees for their outstanding agency contributions. The chosen facility must be able to provide sufficient accommodations to host the awards ceremony accommodating 400-500 attendees, stand-up reception room that is adjacent to the awards ceremony, audio equipment and a room sufficient to greet and host a social gathering for honorary awardees after the ceremony and also provide a reception package. The location must be within walking distance (approximately 1 mile) of the DoD OIG headquarters office located at 400 Army Navy Drive, Arlington, Virginia.
