Description
NASA/KSC has a requirement for the following Wind River Systems, Inc. items:ITEM NO. 1 Wind River Product Code: 535-155133, Wind River General Purpose Platform;VxWorks Edition 3.8 Software License/Time based, Node Locked; License includes Wind RiverCustomer Support; Quantity: 1 lot. Period of Performance: 1 year. NFS 1852.227-86 Commercial Computer Software Licensing is applicable. DELIVERY: FOB Destination Required. Services required to start as soon as an order isawarded. The Government intends to purchase the above requirements from Wind River Systems, Inc.,the developer of the software that the licenses and customer support are required for.Wind River Systems, Inc. is the only known source that can provide the required items. During the past six years, NE-E9 has used Wind Rivers VxWorks real time operating systemand development environment to develop several prototype embedded systems. Thisoperating system and development environment runs on Wind Rivers software. The requiredlicense renewal includes Wind River customer support. Market research was performed andit was found that there are no other known sources for the required software licenserenewal and customer support. The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12.Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform theeffort in writing to the identified point of contact not later than 4:30 p.m. EasternTime on April 8, 2011.Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for thepurpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and opencompetition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretionof the government.Oral communicationsare not acceptable in response to this notice.All responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency.NASA Clause 1852.215-84, Ombudsman, is applicable.
