- DD 1423 CDRL Purchase Specification RFQ A-10A Upper Speed Brake Master Core Kit 1.0 SCOPE: 1.1 Supply A-10 Upper Speed Brake core details in kit form from stabilized core material. 2.0 MATERIAL: 2.1 For the purposes of the RFQ (Request For Quote) purchased honeycomb core shall be in accordance with MIL-C-7438, Grade B, Class 2, non-perforated, stabilized one side w/ one (1) ply of HEXPLY. The stabilization ply shall be continuous, smooth, with no wrinkles or visible overlaps, flat within 0.010", free of frays and foreign materials. 2.1.1 All P/N (Part /Numbers) are 6.0" +/- 0.125" thick, net, with perimeter dimensions per Government Furnished Equipment, i.e. templates +/- 0.125" 2.1.1.1. 160D712151-11/-12 details; material CRIII-5052-3/16-3.1 2.1.1.2. 160D712151-13/-14 details; material CRIII-5052-3/16-3.1 2.1.1.3. 160D712151-15/-16 details; material CRIII-5052-3/16-3.1 2.1.1.4. 160D712151-17/-18 details; material CRIII-5052-3/16-4.4 2.1.1.5. 160D712151-19/-20 details; material CRIII-5052-3/16-4.4 [NOTE: ODD DASH NUMBERS ARE LEFT-HAND DETAILS AND EVEN DASH NUMBERS ARE RIGHT-HAND DETAILS] 2.2. Kits shall be ordered, assembled, and shipped according to respective dash numbers for aircraft left or aircraft right. 2.2.1. A Speed Brake Master Kit includes ten (10) details assembled as two (2) SUB-KITS: (1) SUB-KIT -3 which shall include the B/N (Basic Number) 160D712151-11 / -13 / -15 / -17 / -19 (1) SUB-KIT-4 which shall include B/N 160D712151 -12 / -14 / -16 / -18 / -20 2.3. Individual dash numbers shall be quoted and, procured if, as, required by the contracting authority; however the usual method of purchase shall be as an assembled Master Kit, as stipulated above. Each core detail shall be marked and identified with the: full Part Number (P/N) and dash number; weight of core (i.e. 3.1# or 4.4#); and core material. 3.0 ACCEPTANCE: visual and mechanical requirements shall be in accordance MIL-C-7438. 3.1 The vendor's certification of material conformance shall include 3.1.1. Density pounds per cubic foot 3.1.2. Room Temperature - bare compression (psi) 3.1.3. 3500 F- bare compression (psi) 3.1.4. Room Temperature delamination (lbs) 3.1.5. 3500F delamination (lbs) 3.1.6. H2O boil delamination (lbs) 3.1.7. 3500F plate shear (psi) 3.2. The vendor's First Article Report shall include a statement of conformance to the visual and dimensional requirements of MIL-C-7438 for the MASTER KIT, sub-kit (e.g. KIT-3 and KIT-4), and details thereof. 3.2.1. Material conformance reports are required for any / all subsequent deliveries following First Article Acceptance. 3.2.2. Subsequent deliveries, following First Article Acceptance, which are manufactured from one lot, batch and weight of material may be covered under a single material conformance report referenced to MIL-C-7438 3.3. Notification to the contractor of final acceptance by the contracting authority shall be after a First Article Acceptance Test performed on one Master Kit to include (1) set of each hand / dash numbers, i.e. one KIT-3 and one KIT-4. 3.4 Dimensional inspection of the manufactured Master Kit shall include cellular alignment to a duplicate set of templates: specifically, ribbon direction ("L") ninety degrees (900 +/- 50) to the FORWARD (FWD) edge of the detail, as scribed on the template. Perimeter dimensions shall match the template within the tolerance of +/- 0.125" as noted above. The overall height ("T") of the core detail shall be 6.0" +/- 0.125" as noted above. 3.4.1 Changes, modifications, or additions to these requirements may be submitted, electronically or in writing, to the contracting authority upon receipt of an RFQ. Deliveries for ship-sets will follow notification of First Article Acceptance by the contracting authority. 4.0 PACKAGING AND SHIPMENT: Core details shall be wrapped or packaged to ensure protection from contamination and physical damage during normal handling, transportation, and storage. Each container / kit shall be clearly marked indicating the contents by Purchase Order and Kit Dash Number. Packing shall be per commercial practice and in compliance with applicable rules and regulations that pertain to the handling, packaging, and transportation of the product to ensure carrier acceptance and safe delivery at the lowest rate to the point of delivery. The vendor shall notify the contracting authority, or their designated representative, regarding the carrier and method of transport, at least twenty-four (24) hours before shipment is made. Freight shall be included in price. Kit drawings will be provided upon receipt of completed form DD 2345 MILITARILY CRITICAL TECHNICAL DATA AGREEMENT.
