Description
JandA F404 Synopsis FedBiz Synopsis for F404 Kit Procurement The Naval Air Warfare Center, Aircraft Division (NAWCAD) Contracts Department, Patuxent River, MD in support of NAVAIR 4.4, Propulsion and Power, intends to negotiate a delivery order under Basic Ordering Agreement FA8122-09-G-0001 on a sole source basis with General Electric, 1000 Western Ave, Lynn, MA 01902 for material and parts (294 I1 Kits & 424 I2 Kits) to upgrade the F404 C-Sump Oil Supply Tube Clamps from the cushioned type to the all-metal type, add an additional all-metal clamp and replace the supply line with a new 321 SS tube. This upgrade is to reduce the risk of supply line failures due to excessive vibration resulting from loss of damping when the cushion clamp material thermally ages. The Government intends to procure under the authority of 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1), FAR 6.302-1, only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. General Electric is the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) and the only contractor with the requisite knowledge and experience of the current F404 engine required for this effort. The estimated period of performance for this acquisition is 12 months. THIS NOTICE OF INTENT IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS; however, responsible interested parties may submit information in which they can identify interest and capability to respond to this requirement. Responses must be received by 17:00 PM Eastern Time on 25 April 2011. The applicable NAICS code for this requirement is: 336412-Aircraft Engine and Engine Parts Manufacturing. The Government reserves the right to process the procurement on a sole source basis based upon the responses received. The Government will not pay for any information received. The point of contact is T. C. Renner Jr., Contract Specialist, via E-mail: thomas.c.renner@navy.mil or by fax at (301) 757-9046.
